Snack Kit Assembly

To kick off our 4th annual Cares-a-thon, help assemble snack kits for the Anoka County Brotherhood Council (ACBC). This organization exists to serve as a food pantry, thrift store, and general supportive service for those in the Anoka community experiencing financial insecurity. ACBC has been distributing food packs since 1971 and was one of the first food shelves in the Twin Cities to reopen an in-person shopping food pantry after the pandemic.

This snack packing event will fuel hungry school-aged kids throughout the summer months, bringing community volunteers and community partners together.

We are looking for volunteers to help us assemble these packs at two separate locations!

Shoe Drive

Don't know what to do with those sneakers that just don't fit right? What about those heels that have been sitting in the back of your closet for ages?

We've got a shoe-lution! For this year's Cares-a-thon, we are hosting a shoe drive at CDT Brooklyn Park from June 16 - 23. Participate by bringing in gently-used shoes of any style or size to our donation box. Our goal is to bring in at least 100 pairs of shoes.

For this event, we are partnering with Good in the Hood, a non-profit organization based out of Minneapolis. Their mission is to change lives through kindness in the form of hot meals, groceries, and quality footwear. Our shoe drive aligns with Good in the Hood's "Shoe Away Hunger" initiative, which will provide affordable shoes to those in need and will help to fund their food programs and services, to ultimately reduce hunger in our area "one sole at a time."

Look for more information onsite at the Brooklyn Park facility on how you can participate.

CDT Dassel: MATTERboxes

MATTERbox

MATTERbox has been taking corporate waste and turning it into resources for those in need since 2002. Now, over 20 years later, this organization has distributed over $722 million in restorative aid. Their mission? To help people launch projects that improve communities.

Making a MATTERbox means packing up nutritious snacks to fuel hungry kids in our community. From there, the packs can be donated to a community organization, or MATTERbox will donate them to a community partner.

Employees will have the opportunity to assemble MATTERboxes at CDT Dassel on June 5 at 1:00pm.

Cretex Medical Conference
Footcare & Self-Care Packs

This year at the Cretex Medical Conference, we are partnering with Good in the Hood to put together footcare packs through their program, SoleCare for Souls. This program, started in 2006, provides free, basic footcare to those who are hurting and unsheltered in the Twin Cities area.

These footcare packs will include things like flip-flops and socks. The self-care packs will include necessities like toothbrushes, soap, shampoo, combs, and more. Cretex Medical Conference attendees will have the opportunity to assemble these packs on June 10.

CSP: Food Drive
Pewaukee Food Pantry

Cretex Specialty Products in Waukesha, WI will be participating in a food and essentials drive from June 16 - 20. All donations for this drive will benefit the Pewaukee Food Pantry just down the road, which was first started by the city's Inter-Church Lay Council in 1983. Today, the pantry runs solely on donations.

The Pewaukee Food Pantry accepts a variety of donations to suit the needs of each family that relies on it. Pre-packaged food boxes, canned fruits and vegetables, and non-perishable items are all in high demand. Hygiene items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, lotion, cleaning supplies, paper towels, and laundry detergent are also welcome donations.
